It wasn't the pod software that was restricting its use. The short answer is, you can get witech 17.04.27 working in an "offline" capacity with a starmobile w/smart cable, a vci pod and a micropod 2.įor anything that requires you to connect to techauthority to accomplish, you will need witech 2.0 and a secure micropod 2. And I have spent an extensive amount of time messing around with numerous witech 1.0 versions, both versions of the DRB 3 emulator and some time in CDA 4, CDA 5, CDA 6, mCDA. I have a considerable collection of the scan tools. My information gets a little thin when it comes to witech 2.0 though. I know a considerable amount about all the tools and the various software versions. Sorry to dredge up an old thread but I happened across it while searching for something else. It was the background updates in witech 1.0 versions that stopped you from using it. If someone here knows of a Nos or not updated pod please pm.It wasn't the pod software that was restricting its use. A later software on the original pod prohibited it from being used without being connected to Chrysler server.

Original witech Install driver and unupdated or very early software pod is needed. Witech 1 with the original pod that wasn’t updated may work. It's a nuisance to us, but a huge real time insight to what's going on to FCA. They can see what's breaking on their cars, frequency of breakage and costs associated real time.slicing and dicing the data. It's all about data collection and analytics. That's why they have this "cloud" based nonsense.and I'm sure they make a couple bucks with respect to having to subscribe to the service as well. Does anyone know if it really does send any changes to FCA?You better believe everything you do is logged. For example, setting up an Arrow Controller for your car might cause warranty problems if it does in fact notify FCA of any and all changes. If true I might want to be careful about what you do to your car.

He said the WiTech II could resync the PCM's mileage to the odometer (for example if you were taking off an Arrow controller and reinstalling the stock PCM) but FCA would know about it. He said the older version (version 1?) did not do this.

I have been told by my Viper Tech that everything done on the Witech II is sent to FCA for its records. Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Can all that be accomplished with Tech Authority? I see you need to buy a license every time you want to do something if you don’t subscribe to Tech Auth annually.

#CHRYSLER WITECH 1 UPGRADE#

Is that included in the Tech Authority? I would like the capability to replace door/tire pressure modules, upgrade my radio from 12 speaker to 16 speaker system, reflash ECU, swap ECU’s, throttle position recalibrations….etc. But then I read about the Chrysler J2534 Flash Application. It’s my understanding is that if you want to do any kind of reflashing/updating to any modules you need to subscribe to Tech Authority. I’ve been searching and I can’t find any comprehensive documentation outlining exactly what wiTECH can do/can’t do. I try to avoid the dealer at all costs…they fix one problem, 3 more created. I’m used to doing any kind of repair without having to reprogram/reflash and check in with the auto manufacturer with every move I make with my car. I’m looking to see if it’s worth buying for my personal use.
